The Holy Spirit Comes at Pentecost
Acts 2 1:4
When the day of Pentecost came; they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.
All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Pentecost is always seven weeks after Easter Sunday; that is to say, 50 days after Easter (inclusive of Easter Day). It is important to the church because it celebrates the arrival of the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised that when He left, there would be a comforter who would further enlighten the believers by its power.
A change in liturgical color marks the celebration of Pentecost. The holiday color for Pentecost is red. Red symbolizes the fire of the Holy Sprit fills each believer.
As with any Sunday, we invite you and your family to join us in worship!
