The Season of Epiphany: The Lord Revealed

Night starEpiphany is the time in the church's calendar that celebrates the Magi as they looked to the sky for confirmation of the Christ child's arrival. A bright star in the east guided their search. The star marked the end of their journey. After finding the Christ child, the Magi worshipped Him. They offered Him gifts of frankincense, myrrh and gold, gifts worthy of a king. By offering these precious gifts, they demonstrated humble recognition of who the Christ child would become. The kingdom He would rule was far greater than a mere earthly domain. He would have dominion over all the heaven and earth.

Epiphany last from January 6 to Ash Wednesday on February 25, 2009.
